Imports of stainless steel, nickel ore and ferronickel increased sharply in September

It can be seen that data from the General Administration of Customs of China show that China's imports of stainless steel increased by 155,164.37 tons in August 2021, an increase of 17.73% from the previous month, and theoretically an increase of 116.32%.

Indonesia is a major supplier. In the same month, it imported 152,444.52 tons of stainless steel from Indonesia, an increase of 16.74% month-on-month and a total increase of 115.62%.


China imported 577.7 tons of nickel ore and concentrate in August, an increase of 11.33% month-on-month, and an increase of 52.84% for men.

As the Philippines is still a major supplier, 541.3 tons of nickel ore and concentrates were imported from the Philippines that month, an increase of 13.35% from the previous month and an increase of 58.6%.


China imported 349,662.73 tons of ferronickel in August, an increase of 24.39% month-on-month, and an increase of 20.50% for men.

Indonesia is still a major supplier. China imported 303,099.13 tons of ferronickel from Indonesia in August, an increase of 31.84% month-on-month, and a 28.14% increase in its peers.


China imported 29,428.60 tons of unforged nickel in August, an increase of 30.81% month-on-month and an increase of 185.71% over the same period.

Australia was a major supplier in June. When it imported 20,688.10 tons of unforged nickel from the country, it increased by 50.09% month-on-month and 830.22% at the same time.
